Mom took the kids to the beach for the season, so Dad is on the prowl using his alias, “Rodriguez”. Just like Dad is using his disguise, this IPA is hiding behind loads of rye grain to bring out a spicy and fragrant flavor profile that is sure to lure you in.

Tap at Beer Hunters. Dark brown color, good cloudy beige head. Strange ashy and grassy aroma. Light-bodied. Ryeish, ashy, light caramel. Thin and weird.

Three Johns. Keg. Almost opaque dark amber beer, small pale tan head. Palate is light, thin and crisp. The thin malts are a little papery. Unsweet caramel. Mild ripe orange. More paper. Crisp dry finish. Lame.

Tap @TCBW15. Red/amber, thick white head. Bready, spicy, rye aroma. Lots of rye here actually. Caramel, rye, spicy notes. Grapefruity finish. Great brew. The rye fits nicely in here.

On tap at Tallinn Craft Beer Weekend. Clear amber with an off-white head. Hoppy aroma with pine, some citrus and tropical fruits and caramel. Medium sweet with hoppy flavours and a decent bitterness. Tasty stuff, but the bitterness almost gets a bit harsh.

(Keg at William K Kurvi, 20150304) The beer poured very dark brown. Its head was medium sized and lightly brown. Aroma had pine, grass and burnt malts. Palate was medium bodied with medium carbonation. Flavours were burnt malts, fruitiness, sweetness, pine and bitterness. Aftertaste was burnt and bitter. Too burnt.
