To celebrate Hammertons 10 years of brewing, we blended an imperial stout with our 2022 vintage, which had been sitting in a variety of different Speyside Scotch barrels for 20 months, with the oldest having a 21 YO scotch in it. 9 different malt varieties were used, the result on the nose is chocolate, scotch and dark winter fruit with a luxurious body and a dry finish.

Note the commercial artwork states Bourbon Barrel but the actual can is labelled Scotch Barrel.

440ml can from Left Field Beer, Solihull. Poured almost black in colour with a mostly lasting frothy tan head. The aroma is roasty and chocolate. The flavour is moderate liquorice bitter light sweet, with a smooth, roasty, light chocolate, dry oaky, light warm boozy alcohol bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. Not as rich or indeed as boozy as I’d hoped for, but a great beer all the same.
