This traditional Märzen boasts all the flavors one wants in a rich Oktoberfest lager without the heavy finish. The use of Munich malt provides upfront biscuity and honey flavors that fade into a dry finish.

Canned. Fairly malt forward with caramel and other nites up front. Pretty useful brew.

Bottle. Amber/copper in color. Aroma is highly on the tasty, malty side. Taste is slightly sweet on the front end, well balanced in the middle with a rich malty finish. I like it.

3 week old pint can A: Pale clear amber orange with a small quick head. S: Toasty bread, grassy herbs and caramel with a faint fruity note. T: Somewhat bitter and quite toasty with grass, hay and herbs filling out the sip.Light sweetness and dry ending. M: Brash carbonation despite the weak head, gives a light feel. Pretty clean and dry. O: Simple but balanced and subtly complex flavors plus refreshing mouthfeel make this a pleasure to drink.

Not a bad marzen, a tad sweet but offering up enough toasted bread and nuttiness to offset the somewhat heavy-handed caramel front. Finishes with a gentle bitterness and lingering notes of malt.

Fairly clear copper and bronze coloured body with a peach glow and a very thin, half centimetre tall just off-white head that fades very quickly. Aroma of crisp malt, yeast, apples, caramelised sugars, toffee, earth and a biscuity malt with a dry and fairly subdued and sweet bite that shows some soft fruits. Light-bodied; Very crisp and biscuity malty and dry earthy, grainy notes with some very soft and subdued sweetness, mainly from caster sugar, but also from light fruits. Aftertaste is dry, very biscuity, quite malty and showing some sweetness and herbal notes, but not much else - fairly straight-forward. Overall, a biscuity and very dry, slightly spicey, but sweet marzen with some good flavours, but a muted, mild and easy-drinking profile throughout that has some noticeable lager notes that make this slightly one-dimensional. I sampled this twelve ounce can, purchased from the Department of Beer and Wine in Alexandria, Virginia on 28-August-2020 for US$2,15, sampled at my house here in Washington on 10-November-2020.

Butter, biscuit malt, and fresh hay aroma. Golden yellow with moderate white head. Mildly sweet creamy biscuit malt, and mildly bitter/astringent fresh hay flavor. Good body. Pretty good.
