This traditional Märzen boasts all the flavors one wants in a rich Oktoberfest lager without the heavy finish. The use of Munich malt provides upfront biscuity and honey flavors that fade into a dry finish.

Bottle from Sam's Quik Shop. Golden-orange pour, small white head. Aroma is brown leaf, vegetation, roasted honeycomb. Flavor is brown grass, dough. A bit earthy, not a ton going on, but not bad.

Draft at Craft Brewed. Pours a clear deep gold with a finger of foam. Malt forward nose with some multigrain crackery malt aromas and peppercorn notes. Smooth and crushable with a light leafy , peppery finish. Very enjoyable. --- Beer merged from original tick of Zirkusfest Oktoberfest on 31 Aug 2018 at 20:40 - Score: 7. Amber color. Very slight toasted malt flavor with bitter hop finish. Hop aftertaste. Almost like a mild pale ale.

Bottle: Lightly hazy golden-orange with a thin, off-white head. Biscuit, grain aroma. Taste is sweet, caramel and grain malts. A little herbal/grassy bittering. Pretty solid.

Draft at Hop Shop. Hazy golden color. Aroma of baking biscuits. Taste is chewy biscuit and cracker. Over the top but tasty anyway.

Pour is a murky brown with a large white head. Aroma is a malty toasted bread with caramel in the background. Flavor is a dry and biscuit toasted malt. Pretty decent marzen here. Not too sweet with some flavorful malt used.

Bottle. Clear copper with a tall off-white head. Soft malty aroma. Warm toast. The flavor has light malt sweetness with a mild hop bitterness in the finish. Good beer but perhaps more hop bitterness than I expect in an Oktoberfest style. Only matters if that is important to you. Otherwise, hoppier than average Oktoberfest.
