Bottle bought at kihoskh
no vintage on label
no abv on label
in kihoskh's system it was registered as the 2022 version, so I'll go by that
cap was dark blue with what looks like a bird's feet.
pours very dark brown, settles black iwth a brown head with black bubbles. soon becomes a film head then soon becomes just a ring head.
extraordinarily well balanced bourbon and roasted malts aroma. so smooth. so clean. wood and bourbon and roasted malts. lots of subtle notes but all tracable to these 3 things. bourbon county stout level of greatness. aroma is quite intense, i think my nose tilted after a few sniffs.
flavor is roasted malts, bourbon, licorice, wood, hard roasted malts, faint coffee, faint generic whisky boozy notes. end is roasted malty and everlasting. i think i might be able to just barely taste the hopping, yielding a subtle bitterness and very very subtle herbal tea like note - but it could also be just malty bitterness and wood. seriously good "traditional" bourbon BA imp stout.
tasted 2026-08-23 so has aged a bit. Feels totally fresh though.
