Not sure how old the bottle is, this store tends to have a fair amount of shelf turds. Oh wait, bottled January 2017. Pours a nice hazy orange amber from a bottle. Nice spun candy aroma, maybe frangipane. Flavor adds apricot to the mix. Yeasty. Pretty good beer, hides the booze well. Seemed to age well even on a package store shelf.

Poured into a chalice, the appearance was a golden yellow color with a half finger’s worth of white foamy head that dissipated fairly quick. Just a rim of lace slides with the beer.
The aroma had some soft banana to sweet bubblegum sugars. Light candied fruit and then some coriander and a touch of booze. Vanilla, biscuits and some herbal qualities enter in as it warms.
The flavor leads with the sweetness of the blend between the sugars, banana and boozy notes. Somewhat of a phenol-like to pomme-like fruity aftertaste and then hits the finish fairly the same.
On the palate, this one sits between sessionable and sipping, something somewhat light about it but the booziness coming out seems to make me want to sip it. The weight seems closer to medium bodied. Light stickiness hits my lips. Some boozy hotness crosses the back of my throat. Carbonation felt fine. ABV felt appropriate.
Overall, not exactly a stellar Tripel but one that might be better in time. If I had another bottle, I’d age this to see if that booziness slides on out.
