Pulp Daddy - Smooooth

Can to tulip.
Appearance: nice looking pure hazy orange color with a finger and a half of white foamy head which dissipated nicely to leave some light lace
Aroma: pineapple, mango, extra citrusy hops, and some piney hops; light clean biscuity malts
Flavor: meshes the prior noted aromas to a fine juicy bittersweet quality; finishes with the pineapples, mangoes and piney hops
Texture: medium bodied, good sipper; great smoothness along the tongue, nice low carb
Overall: a very nicely done NEDIPA worthy of coming back to.

Pours a hazy orange from a can, thick frothy head dissipates leaving a thin layer that persists. Definite orange and mango aroma and flavor, a little sweet but not unpleasantly so. Balanced but not knock your socks off. Good beer.

Can at home, as SMOOOOTH. Double-dry hopped version of Greater Good’s New England IPA, SMOOOOTH. Hopped with Citra & Mosaic. Hazy golden. Plasticine, citric fruits, fairly wry, fairly bitter. Not really my cup of tea. Purchased at Premier Gourmet

Can pour into taster cup at Craft Brew Race, Worcester. Appearance is hazy pale yellow (ginger ale), no discernible sparkle, thin ring of head. Aroma is fruit, balanced with a musty, yeasty, kind of laundry thing. Taste is strong melon like cantaloupe and/or honeydew. Palate is light-to-medium bodied with thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Overall, not a lot of complexity and a bit thin for a DIPA.
