Uusi alku -sahtipohjan päälle rakennettu "uusi alkuolut". Maustettu vadelmasoseella sekä Apteekin salmiakilla.

A new kind of spiced traditional ale, where the base is Uusi Alku Sahti by Himo, but this time spiced with raspberry puré and Apteekin salmiakki.

NOTE: By European legislation this one doesn't fit in under the Sahti category, due to the spicing/flavouring used, hence just a traditional beer.

Bag in box at PBF. Hazy mahogany colour, still head. Aroma of salmiak and raspberries. Sweet with medium body and rounded mouthfeel. Pretty much salmiak and raspberries on mild banana. Rather inoffensive pastry sahti. Pretty drinkable in fact.

Dark brown colour, tiny head. Strong aroma of "Apteekkarin salmiakki", licorice powder. Also hints of raspberry. Medium-bodied. Semi-sweet licorice dominates the flavour, some berryness from raspberry. Typical Sahti character is somewhat hidden, has only kind of Sahti texture. Interesting brew. PBF XV. 1,5ltr bag.

Loads of raspberry, hints of licorice and earthiness, farmyardy yeastiness and bready juniper sahti notes. Original review text: I guess there are faint hints of sahti in the finish, but mostly it's just ice cream with hints of raspberries and licorice.
