Bottle - clear dark ruby, moderate lace - creamy texture - presents more like a dubbel - medium-dry and nutty at first, followed by a moderate malt richness on the tail end, with some dusty yeast character that gives strong Westmalle vibes - the well-masked alcohol and medium-full body contribute to the more dubbel-like presentation - a wee bit of dark fruit (raisin and plum) - moderate spice - strong bitterness on the tail end is far too high for the style - it’s not the greatest rendition of the style, but hits enough of the right notes to satisfy, even if not as a quad.
