We are thrilled to be one of the first breweries around to get to trial SUPERLAGER yeast from our pals Escarpment. SUPERLAGER is, you guessed it, a super lager strain. The supernerds at Escarpment have essentially amped up their workhorse Isar lager strain (which we use prolifically here) and made it capable of huge amounts of biotransformation — meaning that you can get a crisp and clean ferment, with a incredible kick of tropical aromas.
To show off what this lager yeast can do, we’ve made a crisp and clean DIPA, brewed a little bit like a cold IPA — cooler ferment, and extended lagering time. We loaded this beer with Calypso in mash, Citra and Cascade in hopback, and a large dry hop of Centennial, Citra, and Nelson Sauvin. Naturally carbonated and lagered for several months.
Super tropical, dry and clean with big tangerine and white grape vibes. We’re digging this beer and this yeast and think you will too!

On tap at the brewery. Pours murky pale gold with a white head. Sterile berries on the nose. Flavour has sterile berries, communion wafers, febreeze. Very poor DIPA.
