Cask at The Wellington, Birmingham. Poured a clear medium amber with a big frothy head. The aroma is grassy and hoppy. The flavour is medium to strong bitter, with a huge hoppy bitter, slightly floral palate. The bitterness in the aftertaste is so strong and there is almost liqourice there. It’s nice to see some strong hoppy bitterness for a change rather than bitterness derived from alcohol. I’m sure this ale will be very popular.

Cask @ Gallows Bird Real Ale Festival 2013

Pours clear golden with a foamy head. Aroma of gooseberries, grassy hops and malts. Taste has a lot of gooseberries and grassy hops, some fruits and hints of malts. Finish is dry and bitter with some smooth fruity notes. Okay, quite hoppy and bitter for a golden ale.

Light golden, clear, dense white head, good lacing
Aroma - Strong zesty hops, soft grassy hops, dry hops, lemon zest
Taste - very zesty hops, lemon zest, very bitter, dab of grapefruit, complex hop profile, nice light pale malt background to let the hops through fully, touch of grassy hops, dry hops, decent flavour
Palate - Thin to medium body, bitter palate, mouth puckering bitter.
Finish - very bitter zesty hop linger
Overall - Super hop flavour but its just too bitter in the finish

Cask at Craft Beer Co. It pours clear amber with a small white head. The nose is fairly subtle.... hay, grass, hopsack, faint gooseberry, greengage etc. The taste is gooseberry, light tartness, pithy citrus, bitter grass and straw with a pretty dry finish. Light-medium body and soft carbonation. Light, flavoursome and drinkable. A solid golden ale.
