Weep for your Northern brethren: Long winters, suspect college football, and perhaps worst of all, no Red Brick beer. Since 1993 we’ve been brewing fine craft beers for the South and only the South. We’re proud to stand alongside grits, hound dogs and Mama as embodiments of the Southern lifestyle. We’re proud to be beer from around here. Until ’10 was known as Red Brick Double Chocolate Oatmeal Porter.

Bottle. Pours a cola-like brown with a fizzy head and aromas of toasty malt and a bit of cola and dark sugar. Flavor is a bit thin, but decent. Mouthfeel could be a little thicker too.

Bottle 35,5 cl. Courtesy of Doodler. Pours a clear dark orangey brown with a huge and frothy off-white head. Sweet roasted nose. Medium body, sweet roast and quite some licorice. Some malt astringency. Not a bad Porter. 270411

(Bottle 35,5 cl) Courtesy of CaptainCougar. Hazy, dark brown with a tint of orange and a beige head. Aroma of roasted malt and vitamins - and then a distinct tartness. Medium body with sweet, roasted malt and then the sourness reappears. Clearly infected - sad. 030707

12 oz. bottle. Pours black with a small tan head. The aroma is coffee and roasted dark malts and faint hop spiciness. The flavor is very sweet, with a strong bitter chocolate. The palate is thick and silky, with slight alcohol warming in the finish. Overall, a classic porter, with no frills, but well done.

Earlier Rating: 2/6/2009 Total Score: 3.8bottle, pours brown/black with golden/brown head. Aroma is malty, notes of dark fruits with light nose of chocolate. Taste malty, light bitter chocolate with a good dark fruit mouthfeel. After taste leaves good traces of roasted malts and coffee like mouthfeel. Overall palate feels thick and creamy from the oat with light bitter finish.

Bottled as Red Brick Porter, matched by 7.7% ABV label. Dark reddish brown with a thick creamy head. Nose is light chocolate and caramel. Aroma was chocolatey, a touch of roast with a thin dry ashy finish. Liked the rounded creamy body.
