Dark mahogany, undetermined clarity, light tan head showing moderate-low retention.
Spicy vanilla, chocolate covered liqueur soaked cherry and heavy oak give a very aggressive impression up front. The malts seem an afterthought and harbor milk chocolate, moderate roast and plentiful prune and raisin. Smells slightly oxidized, as well, with light soy and bread. No alcohol.
In the mouth it's lightly sour? Hmmm. Milky-lactic-chocolate with plum, prune, raisin and heavy, bready astringency. Some vanilla and a touch of caramel-like malt sweetness but a bit thin, overly adjunct heavy and while the sourness is novel, I think I'd prefer it without.

Bottle from Beerhawk. A black coloured pour with a thin beige head on top. Roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla on the nose. Tastes really smooth, roasty, malty, chocolate, vanilla, some dark fruit, slightly sweet. Nice Christmas beer.

Draft at Eebria. This is astounding, and it wasn't even their top recommendation. Inky black pour, with thick creamy head. Roasty, chocolate aroma, ashy. Taste offers some mild sweetness, then mellow bitterness. Truly lovely.
