Baltic Porter - dark, strong lager which is Polish "treasure beer". Classic version of Baltic Porter (with Plato extract around 20°) is brewed with a few Polish breweries. We, as PINTA, respect a value of Polish treasure but at the same time we go extra mile to create our own vision of classical beer. We are proud to present Imperator Bałtycki (Baltic Emperor) - dark giant made of malts and hops. PINTA Imperator Bałtycki - festive beer.
Ingredients: water, Weyermann® barley malts: Munich I, pilsner, diastatic barley, Vienna, Caramunich® III, Caraaroma®, Carafa® Special I; sugar; hops (USA): Amarillo®, Ahtanum®, Centennial, El Dorado®, Mosaic™, Zeus; yeast: Saflager™ W 34/70.

Spandert av djoeye. Delt med ham og Rune i H7. Svart. Lavt tett mokkafarget skum. Aroma av sjokolade & bær. Myk munnfølelse. Smaken som aromaen. Tørr avslutning.

Creamy light brown head stayed on a black still body. Heavy malt, syrup, demerara & spiced fruit aroma. Medium bodied, smooth & oily over the tongue with a cloying back. Sweet fruit, malt, syrup, sugar & berry tastes to the fore with a more fruity back with a tangy hop finish.

Jak widac na zdjeciu - degustacja z cyklu „pij odpowiedzialnie”. :) warka ponad 2 lata po terminie. I niestety tak se mocno. Niesympatyczna, cierpka goryczka wylizla, dominuja nuty utlenieni ale takie a la zwietrzala kawa z nadpsutymi owocami. W tle ok

Bottle bought at Piwnica, Wroclaw. Almost black with a medium tan head. Quite sweet with licorice, dark fruit, some chocolate and warming alcohol. Quite nice.

Bottle from Jabeerwocky. Dark brown with a tan head. Aroma of smoked roast malt. Flavour is silky malt, toasted fruit, a little smoked wood.

On tap at JaBeerWocky in Warsaw. Black pour with a medium ivory foam pretty persistent and leaving crazy drafts. Nose: massive amount of hops in this Baltic porter, over the top. The roast is quite covered by the resin, pine needles, although suddenly pops up, kind of a warm embrace. Mouth: interesting I would say; although the resinous hops take and keep firmly the floor (or should I say the palate), some cocoa, grassy start and balanced round seeet (roast) finish. Not my cup of tea, neither that bad.

Bottle. Big nise, sea water, wood, chocolate, soy sauce, berries, light roast, light apple. Not quite pitch black, some amber tints, with a high tan head. More roasted and very salty flavor, tons of umami and soy sa, dark chocolate. Wow. Blueberry, cherry, coffee, charcoal. Boozy too, and big hop bitterness along with some citrus and herbal notes. Very complex and big. I would like to give it 2 years rest and try again. Very boozy. Still, nice.
