South Pacific Pale Ale
Kipling was the first UK beer to use the exquisite Nelson Sauvin hop from New Zealand. We brew this as a SMASH (Single Malt and Single Hop) using the heritage Maris Otter as a base malt which works to allow the complex flavour of this hop to really shine through. There is a grassy, grapefruit character on the nose, followed by passionfruit and mango. It finishes with a balanced and thirst-quenching bitterness.

Bottle conditioned. Pours a clear gold colour with a tight white head, plenty of hops and citrus fruits in the aroma, the taste is medium bitterness with a dry bitter finish.

Cask at Hops, Crewe – though I have drunk it before. Pours golden yellow with a slight greenish tinge, a small scummy almost white head and good lacing. There’s floral hops and tropical fruit in the aroma. In the mouth there’s a slight sweetness covering a bitter base than gets stronger. Flavours of citrus, mango and grapefruit and hints of biscuits. Later there are traces of peach, passion fruit, white grapes and grass. Bitterness lasts into the finish. Not the sort of beer I normally go for, but this is decent.

Clear golden pour, big rocky white head.
A huge white wine character to this beer. A vinous, hoppy, acidic aroma, with some citrus. Light carb, solid mouthfeel. Medium bitter finish, light grass, and some more vinous tartness.

Bottle 0,5ltr: Hazy yellow coloured brew with an well balanced bitter start, white grapes/fruity/citrus taste and fine bitter finish. Again Nelson Sauvin gives beer an fine fruity and wine-like appearance.
