Belgian Dubbel brewed with dates and aged in oak with a wild yeast culture for 12 months. The core elements of the original beer - fruity Belgian esters, honey malt and dried fruit - are elevated to new heights with the addition of fruity funk and notes of oak and dry sherry. Chestnut brown in colour, on the nose there’s ripe banana, dried fruit, cake mixture and a boozy tang. Restrained notes of brett funk mingle with honey and dates. The finish is dry, crisp and refreshing.

Bottle from Appellation Wines. Appearance - deep brown and bright with a red hue. Thin off white lacing. Nose - cedar, toffee and dates with a funky edge. Taste - bread, dates, wood, sour plums, chewy toffee and hazelnut. Palate - medium bodied, inital sweetness then swept away somewhat with the sour finish. Overall - great stuff.

Bottle from Cork & Cask. Hazy amber body with an off-white head that fades. Steady carbonation. No lacing. Aroma of red apple, farmyard and toffee. Flavour of red wine, sharp lemon and funky yeast. Thin body with a slick texture. Light fizz. A bit rough and funky. Enjoyable though.
