Lager with orange blossoms & natural flavor added
The soft citrus of orange blossom gives this Helles lager a bright note and complements its sweet honey malt, leading to a smooth round finish.

12oz bottle. retaining white-gold. Smell...Yikes! A-weird floral, cracker/melba toast, vegetal, cardamom. Upon reading the label I now get the source of the floral. T-follows, weird, boiled veggies. Was going to share with my Dad after he and I bought it at the store. Then decided to try the first bottle on my own. I know what he is going to say, something like: why did they go and mess up a perfectly clean style like this? My initial reaction is: Experimentation is important, though this one-below average result.

12 oz bottle from the spring mix pack. Aroma is floral, garbagey skunkweed, grain, wheat cracker, earth. Pours hazy golden with lots of tiny particles floating around underneath a one finger white head with decent retention. Tastes just like it smells, being quite dry with some faint bitterness. Weird that something that has this much of a garbagey element could actually be pretty decent tasting.

12oz bottle. Gaddangit. There I was thinking Sam Adams had brewed a clean, respectable Helles. Closer inspection revealed the Orange Blossom, because that is really what the style needs, something to murk up the flavor, adding that sort of artificial citrus tone that pops up left and right in the beer world. Looks like a Helles, filtered orange-tan body. Foamy white head. Drinkable, but not a beer I would ever buy again.

Bottle from a mixed pack. Pours a clear yellow color with a small white head. A light citrus and melon nose. There is a big watermelon sweetness here that I like, toast, marmalade, some sweet creamy grain base. Quite smooth and really hoppy for this style. I like this a lot.

Bottle from the mixed 12 pack from Country 3 Corners Brilliantly clear deep golden color with a good sized long lasting bubbly white head. Grainy sweet bready crackery pilsner maltiness with some faint floral and lemony hops. Rich crackery melanoid maltiness with a hint of earth to counter. The toastiness of the malt seems a bit weird for me in this. Decent brew, but nothing to write home about. Edit: I just read the label and realized this has flowers in it, hence the weird flavor. Doesn’t make enjoy it anymore, but the mystery did get solved :)

Bottle. Golden beer with a cream head. Floral and light citrus flavor with light sweet malt. Spice and floral flavor with orange and light mineral notes. Medium bodied. Mineral and malt linger with light citrus.
