Reddish amber topped with a lasting beige head.
Nose is caramel, dried fruit rinds, biscuit.
Taste comprises toffee, caramelised sugars, biscuit, fruit rinds.
Medium bodied, soft carbonation, drying close spiked with lightly resinous hop bitterness.
Tidy for the style.

Cask at Rose & Crown, Stafford. Pours dark ruby with a small scummy cream head and excellent lacing. There’s cherries, nuts and malts in the aroma. In the mouth it is slightly sweet but also with some bitterness and a decidedly creamy texture. Flavours of malts, rye, grains and dark fruits with spicy hints coming later leading to a slightly dry and bitter finish. This is decent.
