This sour IPA is hopped with Ekuanot, Bravo and Mosaic to create the biggest grapefruity hop profile we could muster, but we've also included grapefruit zest and juice for good measure. Lactose rounds things out with a sweet and smooth touch.

On keg at the Hanging Bat. Appearance - golden orange with a light haze. Not much head. Nose - funky pink grapefruit and blood orange. Taste - more funk, lanolin and a kind of dirty pink grapefruit note. Palate - light to medium bodied with a long lean middle and finish. Overall - this should probably be in sour/ wild ale category. Good.

Bottle from Brewdog Roppongi bottleshop. Pours hazy straw yellow. Some foam on top at first but that's gone on a few seconds. Tart lactose nose, bit yeasty, kind of reminding me almost every sour IPA nose I have had. Taste has more grapefuit juice, tart and grapefruity, not sure about the hops though. Drinks great in summer, refeshing although does not really feel like an IPA.

Grapefruit IPA with lactose (I still find the combination of “IPA” and “lactose” rather bizarre) by Siren, at Beerlovers Bar in Antwerp. Medium thick, egg-white, frothy but opening head, misty golden-hued straw blonde robe. Aroma of fresh grapefruit peel and grapefruit zest indeed, lime juice, pomelo flesh, fresh leek, pineapple, sourdough, limoncello, chalk, cava, whiff of something unpleasantly sulfuric. Fresh, crisp onset, lively zesty and grapefruity as was the intention, starfruit and green banana notes, spritzy, almost cava-like carbonation accentuating the crispness, doughy and bit soapy malt ‘soil’ made sourish by the added grapefruit, zesty and very refreshing finish with again a lot of pink grapefruit zestiness and spritziness, chalky accent, light bitterness (much lighter than expected from anything labelled 'IPA') with drying citrusy sourness - feeling more like a sour fruit ale than an IPA. An ale deeply drenched in grapefruit indeed, hardly an IPA anymore even; nice idea, but I’ve seen Totem in Belgium performing better at citrus-fuelled fruit IPAs (Evighet) and it is not completely free of brewing flaws, with a sulfuric touch in the nose probably from the added fruit. Still a bright, utterly citrusy, refreshing and interesting beer.

7/V/18 - 33cl bottle from Bierhalle Deconinck (Vichte), shared with my wife @ home - BB: 24/VIII/18 (2018-680)

Clear blond beer, big creamy irregular white head, unstable, falls down quickly, non adhesive. Aroma: pretty soapy, bit of artificial lemon flavourings, citrus, some passion fruit. MF: soft carbon, medium to light body. Taste: pretty sour start, lots and lots of lemon juice, bit fruity, clean acidity, grapefruit, white grapes. Aftertaste: lots of sweet pink grapefruit, citrus, nice fruity notes, soft bitterness, more lemon juice. Would've thought this was gonna be a bitter ipa, not a sour fruit ale. I would've almost believed it, if someone told me this is another Siren Calypso incarnation. :p

On tap. Pours a slightly hazy gold with little head. Aromas of fruity wine gums lemon zest and wheat. Flavors of pink grapefruit, both tart and sweet; with lemon peal, grapes and sharp wheat. Quite nice.

Pours a clear pale amber from a tap. Big fresh grapefruit and lime aroma, similar flavor. Mouth puckering and light. A bit weird. Good beer.

Vom Fass Stone Brewing Berlin 2016-09 getrunken. Infused Grapefruit IPA - Die Nase recht verhalten, aber am Gaumen volle Pampelmusenaromen und kaum IPA-Noten. Klasse!
