Oatmeal Stout
You might call us out of touch for releasing an oatmeal stout in the middle of a hot Maryland summer... but this is a great beer for sitting around a bonfire, sipping while barbecuing (or eating barbecue), or just sitting in the A/C! We brewed it with two kinds of oats and two roasted malts for a richness and depth that bely it's restrained strength!

16 oz can. Aroma of milk chocolate, oats, barley. Flavor follows and is rich for the 5.8%. Good texture with some lingering oats and chocolate. Low carbonation level, medium body. It doesn’t get sweet. A well developed summer stout.

Can shared by CLW--thanks, Chris! Opaque dark brown-black, light viscosity, no head, no lacing. Aroma is strong roasted malt, smoke, mild earth. Taste is strong earthy malt, mild toffee, low roast. Thin texture, soft carbonation and finish as taste. Good, straightforward oatmeal stout with excellent strength for ABV. Different taste than aroma.
