Japanese Golden Rice Lager 🍺🌾 Brewed in collaboration with Northern Alps Brewery of Omachi, Nagano Prefecture, Japan.

Southern BC and Nagano Prefecture are similar in many ways: both feature prime agricultural land nestled among mountains, both have populations who enjoy year round outdoor recreation, and in both places it’s common practice to finish a day of adventuring with a cold, delicious beer.

Nagano Gold is brewed with rice from Nagano, Canadian & German malt, and BC hops. It’s a crisp and dry Japanese style rice lager perfect while golfing on a hot summer day, for après ski in the cold of winter, and anything in between.

473mL can, pour a hazy blonde with a medium white head. Nose is pretty laid-back, with soft rice and straw-notes. Flavour is much the same, with lightly sweet, doughy, biscuity malt, straw, and a touch of sushi rice. Clean and easy-drinking, but how good could this possibly be?

On tap at Threefold. Pours clear blonde with a white head. Very gentle rice and grass on the nose. Flavour has a very gentle sake-like rice character, cracker malts, a good amount dry grass. It's clean and crisp, but pretty uninteresting.
