The word “Tripel” was used by the Belgian monks to describe their strongest beer. This Pale ale is big and malty, while still finishing dry.

On tap at Central City, pours a clear copper with a small white head. Aroma brings out some spicy Belgian yeast, a touch of clove, and lightly sweaty/armpity earthiness. Flavour has too much bubblegum, along with candi sugar, a touch of spicy clove, and some toasted malt. Not a successful use of the Belgian yeast. Okay.

On tap at the brewery. Pours clear gold with a white head. Estery nose with some sweaty armpits. Flavour has a more bubblegum character from the esters and some slick armpit sweat. There have been worse tripels brewed, but this one is pretty far from good.
