Saison Effrayant is purposefully constructed for crisp autumn days. It is brewed with three different types of rye and then conditioned on freshly picked sage leaves to create a beer with notes of earthy sage, burnt honey, roasted squash, bubble gum, white pepper, and a distinct rye spiciness. It has a pleasingly full body and a lovely dry finish. A beer for the spooky season.

On tap at the brewery. Clear dark golden with white head. Some funk, sage, very floral, tad spicy. Vague honey. Elegant.
