German Pils
Hallertau Mittelfrüh
German lager hopped w/Hallertauer Mittelfrüh
#DRY #CRISP #FLORAL #CLEAN #BITTER
Německý pils chmelený Hallertauer Mittelfrüh. Základ tvoří v Německu vypěstovaný ječný slad plzeňského typu doplněný trochou vídeňského sladu pro hlubší zlatou barvu a podporu těla při vyšším prokvašení. Suchý, crispy, čistý a osvěžující ležák s jemným květinovým chmelovým projevem a vyváženou elegantní hořkostí bavorského chmele z oblasti Hallertau.
—
A German Pils hopped with Hallertauer Mittelfrüh. The grist is based on German-grown Pilsner malt, complemented by a touch of Vienna malt for deeper golden color and a subtle toasted backbone, balancing the higher attenuation. Dry, crispy, clean and refreshing, with floral and herbal hop expression and a bitterness of Bavarian hops from the Hallertau region.

# 4832; 11/2025. Grainy, malty, floral, lifht cellar aroma. Murky deep gold body; persistent off-white head. Floral, malty, grainy, herbal, light butter. Fuller body; medium carbonation. Well, a very good pilsner with German hops, but the result is closer to the Bohemian style than to most German examples I have tried. 0,5 l, can, craft-beer pub (KMP), Pilsen (Bohemia, CZ).

Golden with a fluffy white head. Grassy, bright spicy notes, light grain, and a touch of floral. Finish is snappy, with a clean bitterness that lasts. Medium bodied. Maybe a bit sharper than what I’d expect from a German Pils and feels almost more Czech Pils but it’s a very tasty beer.

Can at PZ. Lightly hazy golden body, off-white head. Floral, sharp herbal note, the vaguest of green apple touches. Smooth taste, some grainy, minerally notes, herbal, soapy somehow, but lightly so, weird, like fluffy light grain, almost no bitterness. To Michal's defense, he nailed the Southern Bavarian small brewery "pils", served in a 0.3 stemmed glass for the same price as 0.5l of the usually better Helles, drier than it but with as little bitterness, and far less subtle than it, but not in the ways it should be... And that's the closest Germany comes to a joke substyle within the constraints of the Reinheitsgebot, with the joke being on the person ordering it instead of the proper Bavarian Helles. To my condemnation, I tend to condemn such behavior in Bavaria, so the rating might be slanted somewhat down... Personal tastes too. Oh well.

Med-thin body, med carbo. Med-high bitterness, light sweetness. Med-light bready maltiness. Medium grassy herbal hops character. Honestly this feels like a clear cut Czech pilsner, very clean, easy drinking. Very good.
