Virginia is home to 1 of only 6 Belgian Monasteries in the country. “Brother Barnabas” is one of the oldest, living monks there. The true champagne of beers, this lightly colored, medium bodied Belgian-style Tripel is crisp, refreshing, and highly carbonated with fruity Belgian esters that give a great pear skin, apple, citrus-like profile.

Growler fresh from the brewery, 11/20/13. Pours a hazy golden amber color with a thin fizzy tan head. Fair head retention. Aroma of candi sugar, bready malts, tart citrus and stone fruits. The taste is pale bready malts, candi sugar, apple, other mild fruits, noble hops and a faint bit of booziness. Medium bodied, low carbonation, decent balance. Solid tripel.
