Bottle. Dark pour, almost black. Very spicey aroma, with cinnamon, nutmeg, licorice, anise, cardemom and malt. Taste has cinnamon, creamy vanilla, speculaas, nutmeg, mild anise, cardemom and biscuity malt. Long spicey finish. Strange and unusual brew, I quite like it.

Bottle from Kaapse Brouwers Bottle Shop. Pours dark with some off-white foam on top. Aroma has lots of Christmas spices, gingerbread spices, some toffee and liquorice. Taste surprises me with being not too sweet, quite dry/bodied for a festive beer, nice spice character, cardamon, cinnamon, cloves and whats not, matching nicely with homemade gingerbread cookies. Quite liking this, nice dry-bodied but spicy festive ale.

Bottle shared with Inoven. Opaque dark brown color with a slight red glare coming through, average sized beige head. Smell and taste malts, brown malts, some sweetness, caramel, biscuits, quite bitter in the finish. Malt bitter mainly. Medium to full body, medium carbonation.

Bottle at Winterbierfestival Gouda. Black with small dark beige head. Lots of roasted malts, light licorice, blackberries, some toffee, ash, nuts. Lots of roasted malts with some underlying sweet malts. Seems more like a RIS than a Barley Wine to me. Over medium sweet and bitter. Full bodied.
