Poured into a pint glass, the appearance was a mostly dark brown color close to black color with a thin white foamy head that quickly dissipated. Light speckled lace.
The aroma had a fairly nice roastiness to it. Resinous bitter, somewhat piney hops play with a slight herbal leafiness underneath.
The flavor seems to lean towards the herbal leafiness. Roastiness and resinous bitter qualities sit in the background a little bit more. Slight herbal leafy to semi-roasty aftertaste. Dry herbal to resinous finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a light to medium in body with a fair sessionability about it. Decent carbonation. ABV felt fine.
Overall, interesting porter with that herbal leafiness coming in all around. Not sure if I would have again, pretty different if anything.
