This is our Junteenth commemorative cider for 2025. It has a great story.
Junius Wood was born a slave in the early 1800s and as a free man after the Civil War he migrated to Benton Harbor. He helped plan, plant and care for apple orchards in the area, eventually owned his own nursery plus other businesses and became a religious and business leader in the community.
This brut-like cider crafted from Roxbury Russet, Hoople and Frequin Rouge apples is lively, highly effervescent and delicious. A toast to Junius who lived to be more than 100 years old — we think due to eating and drinking his apples.
