It’s been too long since you’ve spent time with your favourite people and are in the midst of them all at a get together at your home. Right, lets get this straight. I am drinking this because I will then become the top rater of beers from Trinidad and Tobago (14th Mar 2015). 330ml clear bottle from a local TESCO store. Poured into a ’Leffe’ chalice at home during a ’random tasting evening’ with myself. Pink body, with a lighter pink wisp and collar, soon to be half a collar. Is this a joke? Sickly, sweet and just horrendous really. The Sorrel ’substitute’ obviously adds to the colour and the taste, a sweet Strawberry flavour within the sickly mess is detectable and Sorrel is supposed to have a Strawberry flavour I believe. Anyway, a lesser man would have drain poured this: but I drank the lot. Wensleydale and Cranberry Cheese helped to ensure it all went down my throat. How to score this? I knew what I was getting, the bottles clear and you can obviously see the liquid inside: I will not be unkind, but the brew is in fact ’shitty’.

330ml bottle from Tesco - Starting off, it is red. Look at the picture, didn’t expect anything more. Close your eyes and the aroma is like a piece of Big Red gum, spicy cinnamon and artificial fruitiness. The taste is almost medicinal, again like a Big Red but not so burning, and a lot sweeter too. As far as beer goes, this is awful. Rate it as a soft drink... and it’s awful. Not for me.

330ml bottle found in a caribbean shop at Shepheard’s Bush Market, London. Fruity and very sweet beginning. Only artificial lemonade there, nothing more. Very sweet, sticky, artificial... Rather a lemonade than a beer...

330ml bottle. We’ll, it pours red. Bright red. Hurts my eyes. Thin head. Aroma is cherry and rolling tobacco. Taste is mostly artificial cherry with mellow cinnamon.

Ha ha hah! Delicious spicey red little round hot cinny artificial candy, just like that hard stuff with the same color. Sugary aroma, spicey too. One of the weirdest ’beers’ I’ve had for a long time, this is more like a quality artificial fruit drink laced with barely detectable beer hints, if any. Very refreshing yet I worry about the sugar buzz. No bitter finish what so ever, soda pop. 1 point 2 percent, eh? Friendly interesting fizzy fruit drink. Found this fun in a dirty little way.

Bottle from Half Time. It’s damn red. It pours red with a foamy bright pink head. It smells like a combo of spearmint and tobacco. Or some sort of chewing gum. Beeman’s? Rather thin body with not much carbonation. The flavor really does remind of Beeman’s.Which I haven’t had in many a year. The finish is rather unbeer. Craft beer it’s not. The sorrel is artificial, as is the color.

Bottle....looks like a bubbly hawaiian punch...pretty pink head that leaves quick....smells like cinnamon....sweet, punchy soda....sweet cinnamon flavors especially in the aftertaste....good as a mixer, or watered down with water...."The shhhhugar causes you to grit the teeth, and then you are able to say shhhandy"....shandy is dandy...shoda with a shhh

27.5 cL bottle. Pours red with a pink crispy head (!). Aroma of cinnamon and in general spiced and sweet. Flavour is sweet fruity, with a candy note before the finish. Sorry no, I don’t get this one, it is cloyingly sweet and artificial in looks, taste and content. Thinking of it as a soda doesn’t help :(

I saw the bottle and was very curious on this one, so I had to have it. Bright red in the bottle translates to bright red in the glass with a pink head which dies down EXACTLY like soda-not beer. The smell was almost completely identical to Sanbitter by San Pellegrino. A bit sweet in the smell, with cinnamon and other spices. The taste was actually very sweet and not bad at all. Definately not a real ’beer’, more of one of those new alcopops. I don’t know what sorrel has to do with this one, as sorrel is a bitter field green used in cooking. A great one to be able to tell people that you’ve had if you pass it on a shelf, but thats about it. If you are around it, I bet you’ll pick it up too because of your curiousity. I bought this single twelve ounce bottle at Beers of the World in Rochester, New York.

undated bottle (probably 03). Wow. This has every marking of a bottle of soda. I was just speechless at the note on the bottom of the bottle saying "artificial coloring and flavoring added". Really?? I couldnt tell. . . Well it pours a disgustingly fake bright red with no head. Aroma has that sorrely cinnamon spice note with plenty of sugar. Flavor reminds me a lot of faygo red, if you add the sorrel, which to their credit, at least you can taste. Other than that, granted this is a shandy, it’s pretty bad. Intensely sweet would be an understatement, overcarbonated. Sugary, syrupy cloying body. Alcohol well-masked. . . this is beer? I dont care if it's a shandy, I've seen better ones without this much artificial crap.
