This New England inspired IPA was our first iteration of the emerging style. Using large dosage of wheat and oats in the mash give the beer a distinctively different mouthfeel from our West coast themed IPAs and the hop additions are focused on the end of the boil and two dry hopping additions. This beer is heavy on citrus, tropical, and floral aroma and flavor with piney accents with little in the way of maltiness. The beer isn’t as cloudy as our other Hazy/New England offerings that came after but the flavor, aroma and overall character is unique and amazing experience in its own. Grains are Two Row, Carafoam, Wheat malt, Flaked Oats. Hops are Simcoe, Citra CTZ and Summit.

Sample at the airport taproom. Hazy orange-gold color with a medium bone white head that recedes steadily to an outer ring. Partial rings of lace. Piney hops, citrus and malt aroma. Medium body with flavors of resiny hops, grapefruit and bready malt. The finish is moderately bitter with a citrusy hop aftertaste. Pretty good overall.

On tap at GABF. Pours a hazy orange with thick off white head. The aroma is dank and tropical fruit. Medium body, citrus, pine, light bitter finish, very good.

Pour is a hazy yellow with a average white head. Aroma is a big grapefruit juice with some green onion. Flavor is a decent bitter grapefruit hop with very little malt presence and this is super dry. Finish leaves some of the citrus hops on the tongue along with some accompanying bitterness. This is my kind of IPA. Plenty of citrus hops and just enough malt to dry things out. This is almost like drinking grapefruit juice.
