[Barrel-Aged Baltic Porter]
In June 2023, we brewed a long-dreamed-of Baltic Porter with our great friends at @slowlanebrewing. The anticipation was huge, and when Slow Lane nailed it, the satisfaction was immense. While we built the new brewery, the beer rested quietly in an ex-Heaven Hill Bourbon barrel. When we finally “woke it up,” we were blown away by how beautifully it had aged. We’ve since blended in a touch of one of our other barrel-aged darks, bringing balance and depth. Expect light roast, dried dark fruits, and rich oaky Bourbon notes from the barrel it once called home.

From a 440ml can on 7/7/2026 (shared with Des for Origin Game 3). Pours a deep brown with virtually no head. Has a big whisky nose with some dark fruits. Tastes quite plummy with some dried fruits, and dark chocolate. Finishes lightly roasty with a hint of sour, and a big dash of whisky. Doesn’t have the body I’d normally expect for something this big. Moderate carbonation. A solid big sipper, but they’ve done much better big dark brews.
