12oz bottle. Was very surprised to see something like this from this brewery. No date. Pop the cap and foam slowly moves up the bottle neck. Of course, the beer pours with a big head, foamy, thick, and sticky. Thick and hazy color, a deep reddish hued amber. Can’t see through the beer. Aroma is definitely brett, strong with a wild bouquet that includes mild oily brett with fruity syrup and some of the herbal funk. Once in a whule I get a very strong herry character from brett and that is part of this bouquet. Its a crazy brett but not too crazy. Mouthfeel has a slick body that goes along a slick bretty flavor. Similar mix of wild, fruity, and herbal brett. Some orage marmalade at the back end. Still a moderate malt sweetness leaving plenty of food for the beasties. My guess, these will likely turn to full on gushers soon.

A rare beer found at Jims Party Shop on Mahoning road in N Jackson between lil paws and Paladin. Bot. I was thinken it would be more wild or tart, was wrong. You know,, you say wild red ale, I’m thinking Flemish, quite a misdirection.. Smell is just a tad volatile. On the palate, tho, it is bear-ley N perceivably tart, perhaps, it comes across like an IPA kindah bS. Muddy thick view like lighter mud. Bitter, almost sweet hoppy thang. Yes, bret it is but, if you are gonna claim bret how about something a little less controlled. Let’s call it an imperial saison, why don’t yah? Like, you know, a little more tart? Not quite as good as expected considering the name. Not really a sour or tart ale, how about american strong ale?

Bottle. Deep clear amber color, small white head. Aroma is earthy and peppery caramel. Taste is earthy, lightly tart fruit. OK.

Sample at South Park Tavern in Dayton. The beer pours a clear dark amber color with a medium-thin off-white head that recedes quickly to an outer ring. Short strings of lacing. Aroma of fruit, yeast and malt. Medium body with flavors of mildly funky fruit, yeast and malt. The finish is fruity with a mild brett yeast aftertaste. Decent overall.

12oaz bottle. Burgundy-red-brown body. Thin off-white head. Really bland chalky tones for a sour. The brett tones don’t really work. This is nothing like a Flemish Red, or any other pleasantly sour beer. Leathery mild brett tones, devolved half eaten malts, and an all around dinginess. Pretty weak offering.
