TONEWOOD / MONK’S CAFÉ MC LAGER (Oaklyn, NJ) Exclusively at Monk’s Café and Tonewood’s brewery taprooms Join us to taste what the kids made…Eight Monk’s Coworkers brewed this beer with the crew from Tonewood Brewing a couple of months ago. This is a sessionable Lager with a slightly smoky flavor – subtle enough to not overwhelm your palate. Additional aging was in a new-ish oak foeder to soften the lager and to add complexity, like a slight note of vanilla. Rabbit Hill Malthouse provided both the pilsner malt and the smoked malt. The latter was from a lightning-struck mulberry tree that provided the smoke notes.
