Felix is New Belgium’s blonde sour ale aged in oak foeders at the brewery. It is blended in various proportions in many of New Belgium’s sour wood-aged beers, such as Le Terroir and Tart Lychee.

How to tell you’re drinking the Felix version of Love: should be straw to orange / amber in color, not dark caramel or brown. If it’s called "Love" on a pub or festival menu, it’s most likely Felix and not Oscar.

My favorite beer at Brewgrass 2011 this was poured at 1pm and i was front and center for it. Pours orange and nose is of fruity sourness. Tastes of tart cherries, oak, earth, plenty of soury goodness. Really frigging good

12 oz draft at Brouwers Cafe Sour Fest in Seattle, Washington. I had this as New Belgium Foedre. Pour is cheddar cheese orange, cloudy with a 1 inch off white head. Aroma is super sour, very tart, even medicinal. Taste is huge: super, mouth puckering, sucking on a lemon, sour. Green apple tartness in the finish. Citric, lactic. Sweet, than suddenly very dry. Finish is simultaneously mouth-coating and drying. Interesting in an over the top sour sense, but too overpowering to me. The whole experience was overwhelming. My stomach lining was screaming for me not to finish this one.

[Dr. Bill’s tasting @ Falling Rock, GABF 2004] An unclear orange beer with no head. The aroma is lovely sour from wild fermentation, and the flavor is an extremely sour wild fermented one with notes of grapefruit. Lovley.

(lagertank - 2003) Hazy orange; slim yellowish stable head. Good Brettanomyces character, malonic, lactic and sage. Super mixture involving lactic, acetic, nearly lambiclike, vinous, phenolic and estery, wood, and yet a hint of sweetness of infermentables. Huge acidburn, sharp end. You gotta love it.
