Clear bottle from LCB, best before date not noticeable. Clear amber with nice off-white foamy top. Malty aroma with bread, straw, light berry and citric notes. Taste is fairly basic but clean - some brown bread, light toasted crust, with a hint of citric noted hops. Light bodied, semi-drying. Its fine if somewhat boring.

Cask at Square Bottle, Chester – though I’ve drunk it a fair few times before. Pours a golden amber with a small off-white head and good lacing. Not much of an aroma – just some hints of autumn fruits. These are more pronounced in the mouth, where they are offset by malts and biscuits. Also some slight nuttiness. Malts prevail in the finish which is slightly dry. This is decent – one of GK’s better efforts.

Cask @ White Swan, Hebden Bridge. Clear deeper golden with a creamy-smooth head. It's smooth-hoppy with mild earthy notes.

Cask at the Jolly Farmer, Winchester. Poured a clear medium to dark amber with a mostly lasting frothy white head. The aroma is malt, woody hop bitter. The flavour is moderate bitter, with a smooth, rich, malt, light floral, woody hop bitter palate and a lingering bitter finish. Medium bodied with soft carbonation. A decent example of the style.

Fra cask på The Globe, Marylebone rd, nov-18: klar gylden med kort skum. Citrusfrukter i en fint krydret bitterhed. Slank, frisk og lettdrikkelig uten at den legger seg på minnet.
