This Collab with Wolf’s Brewery from Moscow is a Russian Imperial Stout brewed with rye, oat malt and juniper berries. This strong and flavorful beer is called "Overstag" because a lot of Dutch nautical terms have bin brought to Russia by Alexander the great after his trip to Zaandam to learn about ship building. A big, bold and flavorful beer!!

Bottle at home. Aroma is dark malt, roast, liquorice, some juniper and spicy/herbal notes. Flavour is medium sweet and bitter. Body is above medium. Like a lot of Jopen a bit heavy on the liquorice for my taste. Pretty enjoyable beer though, decent body and potent bittersweet flavour.

Bottle shared. Black with thick creamy beige head. Roast, tobacco, juniper, dark chocolate, soft marzipan and alcohol, sugar, old wood, cognac. Quite sweet with roasted and alcoholic bitterness. Full bodied with creamy thick feel and soft burning alcohol finish. More like a Barley wine.

Sampled from tap at ’Craft Beer Corner’. Clear, very dark reddish brown to black with a beige head. Sweetish, moderately roasty-malty aroma of dark chocolate, coffee, and licorice. Sweetish-malty, slightly roasty taste of milk chocolate, milk coffee, hazelnut, licorice and juniper, followed by a medium long, moderately roasty-bitter, slightly dry, a bit warming and a little spicy finish. Medium to full body, slightly creamy mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Nice!
