This Collab with Wolf’s Brewery from Moscow is a Russian Imperial Stout brewed with rye, oat malt and juniper berries. This strong and flavorful beer is called "Overstag" because a lot of Dutch nautical terms have bin brought to Russia by Alexander the great after his trip to Zaandam to learn about ship building. A big, bold and flavorful beer!!

Draft. A black beer with a lazing dark brown head. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, tar, and dark chocolate. The flavor is roasted malt, alcohol, hops, and dark chocolate, leading to a bitter and roasted finish.

Würzig malziger Antrunk. Weiche Noten von Karamell und Schokolade, der Alkohol ist dabei erkennbar. Langer weicher Mittelteil, der nahtlos in den Nachgeschmack übergeht. Vollmundig, gut. 10/11/12/12/9/12

Bottle shared by Joeren86. Opaque dark brown to black color, medium sized beige to light brown head. Smell and taste malts, dark malts, roast, malt bitter, a slight distant hint of smoke and indeed slightly a hint of juniper berries. Firm body and carbonation. Heavy beer.

Towering, overflowing dark tan head, adherent, over virtually black beer. Rather sweet nose, not very imposing. Bit nutty, liquorice, ureum-rich. Bitter-ish, oats, dry spices with a.o. black cardamom. Sweet malty underbuild, dark malts. Becomes sweeter rapidly, once warming up. Good chew, viscous, faint alcoholwarming. Aftertaste has sweet roasted nuts. Good try, but I suspect it didn’t yield everything intended.

33cl Bottle from Jopen Proeflokaal Waarderpolder. Black colour, beige head. Aroma of black liquorice, some roasted malts, candy, some tar. Flavour is medium sweet, typical Jopen candy sweetness, lots of black liquorice, tiny bit of roast, sticky bitter black liquorice finish. Medium bodied. Didn’t get any juniper whatsoever, tasted like any other (quite boring) Jopen RIS.
