Cask at Alexandra, Derby. Pours a very dark reddish-brown with a small tan head and good lacing. There’s a strong aroma of cherries and roasted malts. In the mouth it is initially quite sweet and smooth with a little underlying sharpness that gradually increases. Chewy red cherries are the main flavour with hints of biscuits, honey and spice as well. Chocolate comes through quite strongly later on leading to a somewhat sharp and fruity finish. This is decent – provided you like cherries !
