A deep and complex malt flavor and aroma with low abv, medium bodied package. A welcome addition to those year round dark beer fans. Keeping classic this beer features English ale yeast, hops, and malt adding subtle fruity esters, earthiness, and malt depth (respectively).
Notes of cocoa, dark fruit leather (plum & fig), savory brown bread & pretzel crust throughout the aroma and flavor of this dark brew. Perfect to pair with an in house pretzel.
The finish is just right for hot weather and sessionability, the malt sweetness is balanced wonderfully with the mild hop bitterness and minerality of the brewing water.
The name is a nod to the Porters (dock workers) that put in a hard day of work unloading ships and delivering goods to merchants. These Porters often ended their work day with a few pints of beer at the pubs in England, they liked this style so much that they named the beer style after them.
*Brewed with a Gluten Reducing enzyme
