Bottle sample courtesy of Dave at Roofers Union, thanks! Clear dark brown color. Earthy cocoa and licorice aroma. Taste is earthy anise. Interesting.

4oz Draft at brewery. Very dark brown, looks black. Does squid ink have flavor? Otherwise a light bodied Schwarz with some mineral character and a soft black bread eathiness. Heck, I like the style, so it’s hard to screw this up for me. Could benefit from less mineral character.
