Reviewed from notes.
Can to tulip.
Appearance: dark red in color with a finger's worth of white foamy head which tapered off at a nice pace to leave some sliding lace
Aroma: floral to earthy hops, malty bready tones, sly sweet funk with a light hay/straw note, light spicy/woody character; some meadow/field notes and a little bit of wet basement
Flavor: combines the prior noted aromas to a mild funky to earthy and basement-y musty sweet quality; finishes malty, semi-funky with substantial hay/straw sweetness
Texture: medium bodied, somewhat sessionable; good smoothness with some light nicking of the woody spice on the tongue but nothing offensive, good carb level
Overall: I say a nicely done Biere de Mars from Four Quarters!
