Our German style Dunkel returns today. Brewed with a mountain of Epiphany Munich, double decocted for all the malt magic, and then patiently fermented with arguably the most classic of all German lager strains, this one has been cold conditioning for weeks on end to get here today.
The entire aim for this style, at least our take on it, is to ensure a full and rich malt depth and character with only the slightest use of roasted malt for a color adjustment, but also ensuring the beer remains highly drinkable. To that end, we taste dark raw honey, unsweetened toffee, pumpernickel, and a classically rich malt depth, with an overall sense of liquid winter.
