Imperial IPA is a beer style invented in America. We Americans are great at making things bigger, faster, and stronger. Why not do the same with an IPA? This beer is all about the hops. The malt and yeast are merely a delivery method. I used a blend of 6 secret hops. It took me years to obtain some of them. 5 are grown in America and 1 is grown in New Zealand. Hops are added to the mash, 4 times in the boil, and dry hopped twice in the fermentor.

It is medium bodied and light amber in color. It is slightly cloudy because it is unfiltered. Filtering would remove some aroma, so we don’t want that! And speaking of aromas there are a lot. I get an abundance of citrus (grapefruit, orange peel) with a touch of pine in the nose to start. Once it hits the mouth it really opens up. I get a lot of tropical fruit. Grapefruit, mango, pineapple, passion fruit, lemon, melon, and flower flavors immense my palette [sic]. It then finishes with some white wine with grape flavors and passion fruit. Damn this is good stuff, enjoy one now.

Sample at Industry Night at HomeBrewCon. Somewhat sweet and malty with a touch of alcohol. Citrus pine and resin hopiness barely cuts through the malt.

Not half bad. A little busy. Pours orange and finishes bitter. A fair amount of hops and not badly done. A little heavy on booze and lacks balance. Tap at brewpub.
