Sample at RBSG PGH 2016. Pretty much black color, brown head. Roasty aroma with subtle citrus. Taste has cocoa and coffee, bitter coffee finish. OK.

Bottle on RBSG bus. Pours a dark brown with small beige head. The aroma is earth and cocoa. Medium body, cocoa, roast, pine, light bitterness, good.

Draft - Lots of rich dark roast and a touch of coffee. Jet black with a decent light brown head. Dark and roasty, but not a CDA. I actually quite like this and would rate highly if it were classified as something else.

Bottle thanks to Hayduke at the RBSG, grand tasting
Clear dark brown with a medium sized beige head, good lacing. Aroma of chocolate and soy sauce. Taste is bready, soy sauce and some pine
Ok, but not real good.

22 oz. bottle, pours a deep dark brown with an amber tinge and a small beige head. Aroma brings out toasted bready malt and some dry hops to back. Flavour is fairly oxidized, with bready malt and just enough hoppy astringency. Doesn't strike me as a black IPA. Weak and simple. Meh.

Bomber. Pours a nearly jet black color with a small light brown head. A malty fruity chocolate nose. The flavor is light pine, fruity malts, cocoa, sweet licorice. Really fruity which is I guess is the IPA element, but much more sweet and dusty porter. Drinkable and pretty tasty.
