The recipe started as a robust porter, but we amplified the roasted character from the barley and add more complexity, so came change to the roasted malts and the introduction of oats. The result, a beer that sits comfortably between a robust porter and an oatmeal stout.

This dark, medium bodied stout delivers a perfect balance of roasty flavours and subtle sweetness. The oats provide a smooth backbone, enhancing the overall richness.

Aroma is mild yet inviting, with hints of roasted coffee, and a touch of nuttiness, creating a soft coffee impression. There’s just a hint of fruitiness in the background.

The flavour mirrors the aroma, offering a delightful blend of roasted coffee and milk chocolate. The oats add a toasty, nutty complexity. It finishes with medium bitterness and a balanced-neither sweet nor dry aftertaste that’s malty, nutty, and satisfyingly roasty.
