Fledermaus, or “batbier” as we feel it will inevitably be known, is a vollbier: a lager brewed to accentuate the glorious biscuity characters of malted barley grown in Germany and the UK. Add some lovely German hops, lager for a few weeks and away we go: a truly lovely autumnal beer. Don’t forget to pair this with its sister beer, Fieldmouse!

Can at home picked up from HOTM. A mostly clear deep rich amber orange coloured pour with lasting rocky off white head. Aroma is semi sweet, vienna malts, toasted malts, leafy hop, cut grass. Flavour is composed of semi sweet, rich layered malts, toasted bread, big assertive grassy hop bitterness, green liquorice, resin. Palate is semi sweet, rounded and full, resin, grass, moderate carbonation. Really good.
