On tap at The Hatchet Tap and Grill, Richmond, VT.
This was poured into a tulip.
The appearance was a nice looking dark brown close to black color with a one finger white to off white foamy head that dissipated within about thirty seconds. Light lacing.
The smell had some sweet dark chocolate, light coffee, and Belgian spices combined up front. Subtle Belgian sugars are underneath and combine with some bready notes.
The taste took all of those previously mentioned flavors to combine and bring about the breadiness to flavor nicely. The aftertaste was sweet chocolate breadiness. There’s a light sweet chocolate to coffee finish.
On the palate, this one sat about a medium on the body with a fairly decent sessionability about it. Carbonation runs smooth and the breadiness shows a nice smooth weight on my tongue.
Overall, I say this was a pretty good Belgian Strong ale that I would have again.

Bottled. Deep amber colour with a mediumsized creamy slightly off-white head, which leaves some lace. Aroma is sweet and some toffeeish maltiness along with some yeast, spices and mild floral and ripe fruity ntoes as well. Flavour is sweet and bready malts along with some toffee and a big time bitter floral and grassy hoppiness to it. The finish gets some slight ripe fruits and yeast as well.

I buy so many bottles at Kittery, Maine 7- Eleven, Jason the manager needs to make a rewards card for multiple purchases in a month.... For serious, I spend an ass load of money at that place... Anyhow, color is deep brown with ruby highlights, thin lasting head. Aroma is dried fruits, bready like malts, dark fruits and spice.

The flavor is a huge malt bomb with fruit sprinkled in there for good measure. Tons of pitted fruits, cherry, plums, dates and raisins. Body is fuller with some mild spice in the finish. I should have let this sit for a bit. Mild booze. This is like a liquid Christmas fruit cake. Does anybody like Christmas fruit cake???
