Being big fans of spring and the general shedding of winter, we went out to the farm to create our take on a spring style Maibock. The start of this project, we focused solely on the malts, using the Weyermann heirloom series Barke Vienna and Munich malts as our base, lending an unexpected color and layer to the base. These malts are specifically suited for clean, crisp lagers. Adding first wort Hersbrucker allowed for a traditional layer and complexity, while finishing with the Lemon Drop variety creates a dryer finish by adding a hint of citrus and earth tones.

4 oz pour on draft at Vanish! Poured a clear amber color with an off-white head. Aroma was light herbal notes, lemondrop, sweet malt. Pleasant sweetness, light citrus hop notes. Probably not true to style because I like it.
