A short draft pour at the Tall City Invitational in Midland this past week. Old gold in color with a slim skim of solidly white foam. The nose gave promise of plenty of hops and pine. The taste matched up with that along with grapefruit, a good malt backbone and a touch of honey sweetness. Glad to note a decent bitterness. Difficult to find throwback IPAs like this one, fortunately I did.

Tap at brewery. Deep golden color with minimal white head. Aroma of bready malt followed by light citrus hoppy bitterness. Taste starts very alcoholic followed by caramel malt, moderate citrus hoppy bitterness.
