Sour Ale Aged On Peaches

Drinking this medium-bodied beer is like biting into a juicy, yet tart, peach. Farm to Face is brewed as a pale ale and then fermented for ten months in stainless tanks with house yeast. After primary fermentation, Pediococcus, Lactobacillus, and a whole lot of peaches are added. Aromas of green apple and graham cracker accompany a lingering peachy finish.

Bottle sample at a tasting at the Beer & Beyond shop. Thanks Amit. Cloudy yellow. Lovely aroma, funky, with lots of peaches, oak and some leathery notes. Refreshing sour flavor with lemon, lacto, nice barnyard character and lots of peaches. Rounded mouthfeel. Wonderful stuff.

Bottle. Pours clear orange, small fizzy white head, dissipates fairly quickly, good residual lacing. Aroma is dust, apricot/peach, pits and skins, oak. Flavor is light tart, light funky, some basement flavors, Bretty, peach fruitiness. Light plus body, effervescent carbonation. Pretty solid.

Peaches and crabapple nose. Clear amber, thin head. Tart then tangy, peach with hints of oak. Subdued musty finish. Light body, fizzy. The peach notes are nice and tasty, but they tend to overwhelm the subtelties of the wild yeast.

Bottle thanks to Ari, thanks! Pours a clear golden peach with a white head that starts and remains at the edges. Aroma has a good amount of funk with earthy peach and a decent amount of sweetness. Flavor is full of peach that is mainly sweet but slightly tart with a great backing funkiness.

Bottle in Glenwood Springs hotel. Thanks to Lukaduke. Pours a hazy pinkish orange appearance with an off white head. Apricots, peaches, vanilla, coconut, and light funk in the nose. Moderately tart. Juicy. Lots of bright peaches. Kind of one dimensional but very delicious. Kick ass.

Bottle from colonial Spirits. Fairly clear deep golden color with a huge tightly bubbled white head that persists forever because it’s constantly fed by a ferocious sharknado of carbonation bubbles. Earthy funk and lightly tart on the nose. Peach and pomme fruit round this out nicely. Fruity with a tart edge for flavor. Big peach and pear notes with hints of earthy and funk. Light to medium body with a spirited level of carbonation. Nice light approachable golden sour ale.

Pours bright gold into a tulip. Bright white head with good retention recedes leaving trailing sheets. Funky peach aromas. Sharp with aspirin and tart lactic apple turning to sweet peach before turning back a funky tart marshmallow finish.
